Additional information
I am a biologist interested in both basic and translational cancer research. Since 2011 I have been doing doctorate at medical department, Klinikum rechts der Isar TUM. In my PhD project I study mesenchymal-epithelial cross-talk in the intestinal stem cell niche. My research model involves several three dimensional cell culture systems: crypt culture (1, 2), organotypic cell culture (3) and tissue culture ex vivo (4). In my project I address the question: How proliferation and differentiation of intestinal stem cells is regulated by niche? In parallel I am working on translational project aimed at the establishment of human-derived organoids from Barrett´s Esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma biopsies.
