Event description
Learn about the wonders of your universe! Do you have a telescope but don’t know how to use it? Or is the one you have broken? Or are you looking to buy a telescope? If you answered YES to any of these questions, then this event is for you! On Tuesday, June 30th, starting at 7:30 PM, join Hamptons Observatory at the East Hampton Library for this free program. Dan Higgins, veteran amateur astronomer, a Fellow in the Royal Astronomical Society, and the founder of AstroWorldWeb, will answer your questions and provide hands-on help. Feel free to bring your telescope. If weather permits, afterwards we’ll all go outside to put your new knowledge to work and do some stargazing. Details and registration information may be found on https://HamptonsObservatory.org
Further details
Hamptons Observatory is a New York State 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, est. 2005, that is dedicated to fostering interest in science with an emphasis on astronomy. In addition to our observatory (which needs to be replaced and for which we're now fundraising), we offer public programs free of charge so that everyone has the opportunity to learn about and enjoy the wonders of the universe. We don't even charge membership dues. Instead, we rely exclusively on (and deeply appreciate) donations from the general public. We also offer private star parties (for a contribution).
Registration deadline: Tuesday, 30 June 2026.
Geolocation will be visible after you sign in.
