Zebrafish genome unveiled

Highlight Created on 19 Apr 2013 by Alen Piljić

Zebrafish (Wikipedia).

The sequencing of the zebrafish genome began in 2001 and the first draft was published in 2002. However, the latest version of the genome, which was published recently, is comparable in quality to the published human and mouse sequences. It is expected the published sequence will help scientists understand human diseases.

The work has been published in Nature. The work is available for free at publisher's site (see Source link below).
