Abstract

Genetics shape cocaine behavior and abuse liability, but the underlying neurophysiological effects remain understudied. In male C57BL/6J, B6129SF2/J, and DO/J mice, we report conserved and divergent cocaine induced neuroplasticity in the accumbens shell following 5 days of cocaine and 10 to 14 days of abstinence.
