Abstract

Sleep, feeding, and metabolism are tightly coordinated outputs of the circadian system. Previous studies showed that chronic social isolation reduces sleep and increases feeding in Drosophila. Here, untargeted metabolomic profiling revealed that chronic social isolation induces a distinct metabolomic signature spanning amino acids, carbohydrates, and lipids, establishing a foundation for understanding the physiological consequences of social isolation.
