About

Summary

My background in structural and mechanistic organolithium chemistry combined with a knack for organic synthesis results in a unique perspective on organic chemistry and the ability to creatively solve complex problems in the lab. My training in reaction kinetics is invaluable for optimizing and scaling-up reactions while minimizing cost. My experience with organic synthesis will benefit Genentech because I can work quickly and efficiently on multiple targets, increasing the probability of finding a successful drug candidate.
Aside from being mechanically inclined and a creative thinker, my personality will contribute to reinforcing a focused, innovative, and collaborative work environment. My ability to listen and realistically state the challenges that we’re facing is critical for learning as well as for maintaining friendly, constructive work environments. I have humility as a result of trying to understand the world and whatever problem is at hand. I believe this essential in a scientist. I pay attention to my co-workers and remember personal details. Individual problem solving and group efforts always progress more smoothly when people feel welcomed and comfortable.
