About

Positions

Director of Experimental Pathology Apr 1992 -

Hershey, PA

I run a research program in my own laboratory and provide administrative leadership and guidance to the insitution, the department and to individual faculty.  I also serve as director of the Zebrafish Functional Genomics Core, and serve on the executive committees of my department, the MD/PhD program, and am a member of the Institute for Personalized Medicine.

My research program has included work on genomic instability and cancer, using the zebrafish as a model system, the genetics of human skin color, personalized medicine, web-based atlas resources for the zebrafish community, and now computational plhenomics, focusing on creating an infrastructure for high-throughput synchrotron microCT and analysis of microCT images.

I was founding co-director of the Penn State Bioinformatics and Genomics graduate program from 2005 to 2014.
