About

Summary

I am a researcher and as such research has driven my interest since i was a student in biology. A key feature of my career in research so far has been its multidisciplinary nature. My studies span the fields of genetics, ecology, evolutionary biology, proteomics, transcriptomics, genomics, animal breeding, and bioinformatics. During my postdoctoral years I have enforced the independent thinking and enlarged my research horizons thanks to the different topics I needed to deal with. This has enabled me to enlarge my knowledge and I feel I am ready to challange my self with new topics.

Living abroad have offered me opportunity to adapt to new environments; I have learned how important it is to be flexible and make use of my own resources.

Positions

Researcher Dec 2012 -

Consiglio per la ricerca e la sperimentazione in agricoltura, Agricultural research

I am working in the field of animal breeding mainly focussing in buffalo and cattle species. I am investigating the genomics involved in twins in one of the rural cattle breed by using SNP chip data. I am also involved in the genomics and physiology of buffalo for what concern milk production and fertility. Moreover i am involved in a project for sequencing the Y chromosome of the Lipizzan horse breed.

I was on my maternity leave during which there has been a change in our family resulted to be moving to London. I am taking it as new challenge in my life and thus the reson to leave the job.
