1. Pharmacokinetic analysis of albendazole for the treatment of extra-hepatic echinococcosis.
Serologic investigation by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and Western blot confirmed the diagnosis of E. granulosus infection
Measuring the concentrations of albendazole and albendazole sulphoxide in plasma and cyst fluid by a validated highperformance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method using an “UltiMate 3000” system
2. The activity of mefloquine and azithromycin „in vitro“ in comparison to sulphadoxine-pyrimethamine against bacterial pathogens with clinical importance in pregnancy using plate methods and microdilution assay
3. Translation of the in vitro activity of sulphadoxine-pyrimethamine against GBS to effective in vivo cleaning of recto-vaginal GBS colonization
Used Plate Methods under anaerobic conditions
Detection of S. agalactiae using multiplex PCR
Performed statistical analysis by using Stata
4. Vertical transmission of maternal HHV-8 infection to newborn
Detection of maternal HHV-8 infections by using indirect immunofluorescence assay and fluorescence microscopy
Analysed the vertical transmission by RT-PCR using the LightCycler® carousel-based system
