About
Summary
I’m Maggie (Ngoc), currently based in Munich, Germany, and I’m very excited to join the Life Science Network.
I recently completed my PhD in Biomedical Sciences, with a strong focus on longevity, healthy aging, metabolism, reproductive and gut health, and translational biomedical research. My background combines academic research, scientific communication, and growing interests in preventive health, precision nutrition, and real-world applications of longevity science.
I’m passionate about bridging science and impact - helping translate longevity research into meaningful improvements in human health and quality of life.
I’m really looking forward to connecting and potentially collaborating with people here from biotech, healthtech, research, startups, and the broader preventive health space.
Looking forward to meeting you all!
Positions
PhD student Dec 2021 - Sep 2025
My PhD research project aims at investigating the role of ageing in functional, structural
and mechanical changes in the vascular smooth muscle. From that, potential therapeutic agents and strategies have been used to target vascular ageing in age-related diseases (i.e. cardiovascular disease, cancer, CKD).
• Successfully developed a novel approach to delay ageing in primary human vascular smooth muscle cells and iPSCs-derived vascular smooth muscle cells using manipulation of one-carbon metabolism.
• Excel at performing in vitro experiments to study validated biomarkers of cellular ageing
• Evaluated the transcriptomic landscape of vascular smooth muscle cells during the life course using RNA sequencing.
• Successfully extended the lifespan of D. melanogaster and C. elegans models by 20%.
