About

Summary

Biography

I am a Doctor of Pharmacy, with a Master in Public Health, a Diploma in Biostatistics and a PhD in Epidemiology; I am an academic Professor with a teaching experience in several institutions. I am also an expert in research direction with a diploma of Ability to Direct Research. I have also published 195 international publications in peer-reviewed journals, with hundreds of oral presentations and scientific posters in the fields of medical epidemiology, toxicoepidemiology, public health, clinical pharmacy, and pharmaco-epidemiology.  I have also been training health professionals on clinical pharmacology, biostatistics and epidemiology for more than 20 years in non academic establishments.

Scholarly interests

I am an academic pharmacist working to build a success story of a teacher, researcher and manager. Until now, I have succeeded to become a renowned researcher with flourishing productivity and wide collaborations, in addition to being a successful teacher, leader and manager in institutions where I have served. Strategic planning, quality management and academic programs implementation are activities I do extremely well. Although I am interested by several research fields such as clinical epidemiology, toxico-epidemiology and pharmaco-epidemiology, I may summarize my work as “toxics’ exposure and human health”, where toxics exposure include drugs, smoking, alcohol, pesticides and other substances use, misuse, abuse or unintentional exposure, while health concept involves quality of life, chronic and infectious diseases related morbi-mortality; by this, I may contribute to improve the public health conditions. Technically, I have a high expertise in research designing, data collection, management and analysis. I perform basic and advanced statistical operations with both frequentist and Bayesian methods, where I use several statistical softwares to perform modelization and generate standardized validated tools for health data measurements.
