Summary
Phoebe Zoe Maria U. Sanchez is a professor of sociology and history at the University of the Philippines Cebu. She is currently on study leave and a research fellow at the Universite Catholic de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Ottignies, Belgium. She served as a member of the board of directors of the Philippine Sociological Society (PSS) for two terms, from 2016 to 2018, and 2018 to 2020. Her most recent publication is entitled: "Engaging in Public Sociology: The Philippines' Case," a book chapter in Routledge's International Handbook on Public Sociology (2021) edited by Hossfeld, Kelly, and Hossfeld, and the “Cebu’s Subnational Politics: A Survey of Philippine Political Structure and Culture,” published at the springer Journal of Law and Social Sciences (JLSS) of the Global Science Technology Forum (GSTF). As a professor of public sociology, Prof. Sanchez highlights works in line with human rights policy analyses in the Philippines, housing and urban development, governance, and civil society institutionalization.
