Summary

Systemic administration of drugs can cause several common and distinct ophthalmic adverse reactions that may be related to the pharmacodynamic or pharmacokinetic action of a drug and possibly even serve as a marker of toxicity.

Introduction

Ocular toxicity is routinely assessed in toxicology studies conducted for regulatory purposes. Anatomical and physiological differences between species can affect the nature of ocular effects observed following intended or unintended exposure of ocular tissues to xenobiotics. Ocular toxicity in experimental animals provides a concise reference for ocular anatomy and physiology of different species, which will contribute to the design and interpretation of toxicological studies.

Creative Bioarray is proficient in ocular toxicology research and can support any phase of your preclinical development program with in vivo studies and complete histopathological evaluation for your therapeutics. We have specialized techniques including ERG, OCT, pachymetry, tonometry and fundus angiography for toxicology and pharmacology assessments.
