Stock solution of ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (0.5 M EDTA, pH 8.0)

Materials

To prepare 1L of 0.5 M solution, you need:

  • 186.1 g EDTA disodium salt (M=372.2)
  • NaOH
  • deionized water

Procedure

  1. Dissolve EDTA in 800 mL deionized water
  2. Adjust pH to 8.0 with NaOH  (EDTA will completely dissolve when the pH is adjusted to 8.0)
  3. Add deionized water to 1L
