Abstract

Blue fluorescent azolium salts with higher Stokes shift, increased water solubility, and bioorthogonal functionality were synthesized and explored. The promising molecules among the synthesized compounds exhibited a quantum yield of approximately 0.40 in biologically relevant buffer solutions. These derivatives were further examined for bioimaging and bioorthogonality under aqueous conditions.
