Abstract
Multiple myeloma (MM) is a hematologic malignancy caused by the malignant proliferation of plasma cells, which lacks diagnostic markers. This study further explores the clinical significance and applicability of serum lncRNA TTTY15 in MM diagnosis and treatment.
Using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), we measured its relative expression in male MM patients vs. healthy controls, analyzing correlations with MM clinicopathological features and tradi-tional markers ALB, β2-MG to assess its potential in MM auxiliary diagnosis.
Serum TTTY15 expression in male multiple myeloma (MM) patients was significantly higher than in healthy controls (p < 0.001). In 30 followed-up male MM patients, serum TTTY15 levels decreased after three months of chemotherapy compared to pre-treatment values. Furthermore, TTTY15 expression correlated with albumin levels and renal injury (both p < 0.05). Combining TTTY15 with ALB and β2-MG improved diagnostic performance for MM.
Serum TTTY15 was variably expressed in MM patients, indicating that serum TTTY15 may be a novel biomarker for MM diagnosis and dynamic monitoring.
