Abstract

Selective hydrosilylation of ω-hydroxyalkenes is achieved using 2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine (MPC)-protected ruthenium nanoparticles ((PC-SH) Ru NPs). The MPC-derived surface suppresses O-silylation, enabling unprecedented CC functionalisation unattainable with other Ru catalysts.
