Abstract

Integrating amino acids/peptides into hydrazine skeletons remains a significant challenge. We report a visible-light-induced carbamoylation using DHP-tagged amino acids/peptides as radical precursors for the green synthesis of diarylhydrazine carbonyl amino acid/peptide derivatives (37 examples, up to 96% yield). This first integration of amino acid/peptide motifs into hydrazines features mild conditions, external oxidant/additive-free, broad substrate scope and excellent compatibility. It enables late-stage modification of proteins/amine-containing functional molecules, offering a sustainable strategy for peptide modification and drug discovery.
