Abstract
Aware of the global movement of digital transformation in the health sector and the importance of this theme in strengthening the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS), the Health Department of the state of Bahia has made significant investments in the technological modernization of its facilities. The project involved replacing analog models in public administration in order to fully digitize healthcare management. In 2017, the State Health Data Network (Rede Estadual de Dados em Saúde - REDS) was established, seeking to unify medical records into a single repository, streamlining access and integrating patient data. This case study analyzes Bahia's experience in this process of technological modernization and digital transformation over a ten-year period (2015-2024), culminating in the implementation of REDS.
