Abstract
The increasing consumption of preprepared dishes in China has raised public health concerns regarding potential exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs).
Trifluoroacetic acid was the predominant PFAS in all samples, while long-chain PFASs were mainly detected in aquatic foods. A conservative scenario-based dietary exposure assessment showed that the estimated daily intake of total PFASs ranged from 1.14 to 98.63 ng/kg body weight/day across various preprepared dishes.
Current PFASs exposure from preprepared meat and aquatic dishes poses a low health risk for consumers, but continued monitoring and risk assessment remain necussary.
