Abstract

B-Raf proto-oncogene, serine/threonine kinase (BRAF) mutations are rare (1-2%) in invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma (IMA). The therapeutic effect of dabrafenib combined with trametinib in IMA with BRAF mutations remains unknown. An 82-year-old man with a BRAF V600E mutation was diagnosed with mixed invasive mucinous and nonmucinous adenocarcinoma of the lung (cT4N1M1a, stage IVA) and he was treated with dabrafenib plus trametinib. The treatment effect continued for 14 months, suggesting that combined dabrafenib and trametinib as targeted therapy is a potential treatment option for BRAF V600E mutation-positive mixed invasive mucinous and nonmucinous adenocarcinoma of the lung.
