Abstract
This study aims to assess the satisfaction of non-psychiatric physicians transitioning to psychiatric practice with a job transfer training program in Guangdong Province, China, and to identify the factors influencing their satisfaction, with the goal of optimizing training programs and enhancing professional development.
A self-designed questionnaire was administered to 198 physicians undergoing job transfer training at a psychiatric hospital in Guangdong Province. Participants rated multiple dimensions of training quality on a 5-point Likert scale. Descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, and group comparisons were conducted to assess satisfaction levels and influencing factors.
Physicians reported a generally high level of satisfaction with the job transfer training. However, significant differences were observed across professional titles. Senior-level physicians expressed lower satisfaction, particularly regarding learning activities and clinical mentoring, compared with junior- and intermediate-level participants.
The findings indicate that while overall satisfaction with the job transfer training program is relatively high, there are areas for improvement, particularly in the design of the learning activities and clinical mentoring. The study suggests that tailoring the training program to better match the needs of senior physicians and optimizing job rotation arrangements can improve satisfaction and contribute to the effectiveness of psychiatric training programs.
