Abstract

Subspecialty fellowship training is becoming more commonplace and medical practice more multidisciplinary. However, specialized training programs are challenged to provide a core curriculum that covers the interdisciplinary aspects of their field. Here we present a joint, interdisciplinary, interactive didactic program for breast fellowships in surgery, pathology and imaging. A yearlong core curriculum composed of topics of relevance to breast fellows involved in diagnostics and clinical care was created. Two hour long fellow-run interactive in-person sessions occur monthly. Additionally, faculty from breast subspecialties in surgery, imaging, pathology, medical oncology, cancer genetics, plastics and radiation oncology present hour-long didactic sessions on core curricular topics via virtual format.
