Abstract

A 24-year-old woman presented with persistent retropatellar pain and recurrent iatrogenic medial patellar instability of the left knee after lateral release, tibial tubercle (TT) medialization, and medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction. After failed TT repositioning, combined reconstruction of the MPFL and lateral patellofemoral ligament (LPFL) was performed using a quadriceps tendon graft with intraoperative isometric assessment.
Few techniques address recurrent medial patellar instability. Simultaneous MPFL and LPFL reconstruction may be an effective treatment for recurrent iatrogenic medial patellar instability.
