Abstract

A new study in PLOS Biology shows that in Drosophila, patterns of molecular evolution differ between genes expressed during oogenesis and spermatogenesis. Their evolutionary framework provides a basis for better understanding the link between molecular evolution of reproductive organs and the speciation process.
