Abstract

In this paper, a novel strategy to a series of polycyclic N-heterocycle-fused naphthoquinones by a B(C6F5)3-catalyzed [4 + 2] cycloaddition reaction is reported. This approach is featured with a wide substrate scope, moderate to excellent yields, and divergent structures of products. The results of photophysical characterization showed that the structure of polycyclic N-heterocycles had a great influence on the fluorescence properties, and 3-indoleacetic acid (IAA) recognition research indicates that the compounds have a preliminary fluorescence response observation.
