Abstract

To provide evidence-based recommendations for the physiotherapy management of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
Evidence-based recommendations were developed by a multidisciplinary team, including PhDs and master's-level researchers, physicians, and experienced physiotherapists specializing in neurological rehabilitation.
After the selection process, 23 studies were included. Eighteen recommendations addressing motor aspects in ALS were formulated.
Therapeutic exercise should be considered to improve or maintain ALSFRS-R scores in people with ALS. However, the effects of other interventions examined in this study remain uncertain with respect to motor aspects.
