Abstract
Limited research has assessed young adults' knowledge and attitudes regarding nonmedical cannabis regulation.
We examined correlates of regulation-related knowledge and attitudes among 4,031 US young adults, ages 18-34, using 2023-2024 data. Multivariable regression assessed factors associated with: (1) incorrect vs. correct responses to regulation-related knowledge; and (2) legalization-related attitudes.
Factors associated with incorrect responses to "Marijuana products must be approved by the FDA" included being male, heterosexual, Hispanic, Black or Asian (vs. White), ≥Bachelor's-educated, married, a parent, and rural. Factors associated with incorrect responses to "States with legalized recreational marijuana require products are tested and proven safe" included cannabis nonuse and being non-Hispanic, Black, Asian,
