Abstract

Persistent treatment-resistant anogenital plaques should not be repeatedly managed as chronic eczema without histopathological confirmation. Early biopsy of atypical or non-resolving lesions facilitates timely diagnosis of Bowen disease, prevents prolonged diagnostic delay, and enables treatment before progression to invasive squamous cell carcinoma.
