Abstract

Azoxy compounds have served as useful organic synthons. However, their photochemical transformations remain underexplored. Herein, we disclose a new reactivity mode of azoxyarenes that generates aryl radicals and tosyl radicals under visible-light irradiation, enabling the 3-arylation of quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones without the need for additional catalysts or additives.
