Abstract

Nationally, the percentage of gonorrhea and chlamydia cases diagnosed in STD clinics dropped dramatically from 1989 through 2023 for men (gonorrhea: 74% to 7%; chlamydia: 47% to 6%) and women (gonorrhea: 57% to 4%; chlamydia: 26% to 3%). Careful consideration of where STDs are diagnosed is important for public health planning.
