Abstract

We report structural adjustments for single-substituted diarylaminoanthracenes to balance charge-transfer-assisted colour tuning with narrow bandwidth and high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY). Comparing single-substituted isomers reveals that the 2-substituted scaffold provides good photophysical properties, and the weaker bis[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]amino donor affords improved fluorescence properties with excellent PLQY in solvents with different polarities.
