Abstract

Chalcogenide radical cations are typically transient species, but act as important intermediates in biology and organic synthesis. Here we report the preparation and characterisation of kinetically stabilised chalcogen (S, Se, Te) radical cation salts derived from bulky arylchalcogenyl iodides.
