Abstract

To summarize the best evidence for the follow-up management of patients with chronic atrophic gastritis and provide a reference for clinical follow-up management.
Following the "6S" evidence model, domestic and foreign databases, guideline websites and relevant association websites were systematically searched for evidence on the follow-up management of patients with chronic atrophic gastritis, including clinical decisions, guidelines, expert consensus, evidence summaries and systematic reviews, etc. The search time limit was from January 2015 to October 2025. Two researchers independently used corresponding tools to evaluate the quality of the included literature and extract the evidence.
A total of 13 literatures were included, including 1 clinical decision, 7 guidelines, 4 expert consensus and 1 systematic review. Thirty‑two pieces of evidence were summarized from 8 aspects such as the necessity of follow-up, the mode of follow-up, the eradication treatment and management of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), lifestyle and health education, endoscopic surveillance strategies, evaluation and management of staging, drug use management, comorbidities and special population management.
The evidence summarized in this study can provide an evidence-based basis for the follow-up management of patients with chronic atrophic gastritis, which can help to optimize clinical practice and improve patient prognosis and quality of life.
