Abstract

The incidence of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NET) has been on the rise, and the treatment strategies for advanced cases have become increasingly diverse. This article aims to explore the evolution of the drug treatment landscape for advanced GEP-NET, systematically reviewing the evidence-based medical progress of core approaches such as somatostatin analogues, targeted therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and peptide receptor radionuclide therapy. On this basis, it focuses on analyzing challenges currently faced in clinical decision-making, such as optimizing treatment sequences, overcoming drug resistance mechanisms, and developing biomarkers. Expert opinions and prospects based on clinical practice were proposed regarding future directions such as drug combination strategies, exploration of novel therapies, and precision treatment models to explore the current status and future of advanced GEP-NET drug therapy.
