Abstract
There are few studies on evaluating diagnosis performance of interventional therapy for transplant renal artery stenosis (TRAS) by contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS).
To investigate the efficacy of evaluating interventional therapy for TRAS using CEUS.
A retrospective study was conducted by collecting clinical information from post-renal transplant patients admitted to the Northern Theater General Hospital from April 2021 to July 2023. All 362 suspected patients underwent CEUS and computed tomography angiography (CTA), and a total of 24 patients were diagnosed with TRAS, all of whom then underwent interventional surgery and were re-examined with CEUS after the surgery.
According to the results by CTA, it showed a reduction of the inner diameter in 8 patients with moderate stenosis (50%-79% stenosis), and in 16 patients with severe stenosis (80%-99% stenosis). Compared with preinterventional therapy, serum creatinine (P < .05), perfusion level (P < .05), and peak arterial flow velocity of TRAS patients after 1 week of interventional therapy (P < .05) were decreased, and interlobar arterial resistance index was increased (P < .05). The differences were statistically significant.
CEUS plays an important role in evaluating the effect of vascular interventional therapy for TRAS. In some simple cases, CEUS can replace CTA examination.
