Abstract
Case management is recognized as crucial in organizing services, making it a key method in gerontological social work. Our scoping review conceptualizes case management with older adults in the context of space and place. Case management plays a transitional position between services, with its framework influenced by regional and national contexts. The distinction between place as a concrete entity and space as an abstract concept is not always clear-cut, places can adapt and become more versatile when additional services are required. Conversely, institutional spaces, often seen as abstract, can become more rigid and structured when communication between services is facilitated.
