Abstract

This review highlights recent progress in manganese-catalyzed (de)hydrogenative reactions and hydrogenation related transformations, emphasizing air-stable, non-phosphine ligand frameworks as sustainable alternatives to traditional phosphine-based systems. It discusses structure-activity relationships and mechanistic features, while critically addressing divergent selectivity control as a key challenge and opportunity, along with broader future directions in sustainable manganese catalysis.
