Comparative evaluation of ease in dental treatment using midazolam versus midazolam-ketamine in uncooperative children.

Abstract

Effective sedation strategies for non-cooperative children in dental care remain a significant clinical challenge. Therefore, it is of interest to compare the effectiveness of midazolam alone versus midazolam combined with ketamine in managing uncooperative pediatric dental patients. Hence, seventy children were equally divided into two groups, with assessment of behavioral response, treatment compliance and operator comfort. The combination regimen demonstrated improved sedation quality, better compliance and enhanced operator comfort compared to midazolam alone. Thus, we show combination sedation as a more effective approach for pediatric dental management, optimizing clinical outcomes and procedural efficiency.
