Abstract

Sudan faces some of the most acute humanitarian crises in the world, driven by armed conflict, mass displacement, food insecurity, and the collapse of health systems. Women and children are in particular at risk. This article pools findings on maternal and pediatric health outcomes in Sudan, particularly antenatal access to care, children with amputations, trauma-informed care, and medical evacuation pathways. We contextualize Sudan in relation to global health disparities and assess humanitarian responses through child rights principles and the Sustainable Development Goals. Without sustained, child-centered investment, Sudan risks long-term harm to maternal and child health across the life course.
