Abstract
Objectives: This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to assess the effectiveness of nationally implemented, government-led, deterrence-oriented counterterrorism interventions targeting domestic terrorism in OECD countries. Methodology: The review will follow standard Campbell Collaboration methodological guidelines. Data permitting, multilevel meta-analyses will be used to estimate overall pooled effect sizes while accounting for the hierarchical structure of the data by modelling dependence among multiple effect sizes within studies. Moderator analysis and meta-regression will be instrumental in exploring potential sources of heterogeneity. Implications: The findings of the review hold significant implications for shaping effective evidence-based policies and interventions in the area of domestic counterterrorism. The results are also intended to inform future research by identifying gaps in the body of knowledge.
