Abstract

This case report describes a novel presentation of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans causing deep neck abscess, mediastinitis, and deep vein thrombosis. Clinicians should be aware that this organism can cause invasive extra-oral infection. More research is required to define optimal treatment duration; however, our case demonstrates success with 6 weeks of antibiotics.
