Abstract

To analyze literature on devices for minimizing injuries to internal organs and vessels during laparoscopic access. Article search was performed in Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. Original English-language studies with clinical data on relevant devices were included. Nine studies on devices reducing complications during abdominal puncture or first trocar placement were analyzed. Three key approaches were identified: Veress needle modification, abdominal wall lifting devices, and needle-adjacent tissue visualization.
Devices improving needle control and abdominal wall retraction successfully establish access in experiments. Prospective clinical studies are needed to confirm their effectiveness in reducing complications.
