Abstract

This is a protocol for a Cochrane review (intervention). The objectives are as follows: Primary To compare the effects and safety of lipid-lowering therapies, including statin regimens (high intensity, moderate intensity, and low intensity), non-statin therapies, and combination regimens, for the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease in adults, using pairwise and network meta-analysis where appropriate. Secondary To obtain an estimate of the relative ranking of these lipid-lowering therapies compared to placebo/no treatment.
