El Niño 2026-27 and DENV-3 in Latin America: A Narrowing Window for Preparedness.

Abstract

A very strong El Niño is arriving over a Latin American population with little DENV-3 immunity. Lead time should be used to give first doses, strengthen vector control, differentiate DENV, CHIKV, ZIKV and OROV outbreaks, and prepare clinical capacity.
