Abstract
The implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare continues to emphasize precision, standardization, and efficiency. However, core values of nursing such as care, interpersonal interaction, contextual judgment, and relational ethics are often difficult to represent and quantify in algorithmic systems. Moreover, the development of AI raises broader structural concerns regarding gendered power relations, professional knowledge, and technology governance. Therefore, in this article, care is adopted as the central analytical perspective and a framework of awareness, critical reflection and deconstruction, and action is followed. First, how nursing knowledge and relational ethics are progressively rendered invisible by algorithmic logic is examined. Next, how techno-patriarchy reconstructs gendered power relations in healthcare through algorithms is critically analyzed. Finally, Gendered Innovations is proposed as an action-oriented strategy to reconstruct nursing care in the AI era. In conclusion, nurses, as increasingly important users of AI technologies, should be active participants in relevant AI design, governance, education, and health policymaking tasks. This engagement may be expected to help ensure intelligent healthcare advances not only technological innovation but also humanistic care, health equity, and gender equality, enabling AI to move beyond recognizing disease to recognizing the indispensable value of nursing care.
