Abstract

Membranous nephropathy (MN) is one of the most common primary glomerular diseases in China. In recent years, substantial progress has been made in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of MN both domestically and internationally, and a growing body of new evidence has emerged. Therefore, it is imperative to standardize current diagnostic and therapeutic approaches and to provide clinicians with actionable, evidence-based guidance. The National Clinical Research Center for Kidney Diseases has organized a guideline working group to develop the "Guideline for the diagnosis, treatment and management of membranous nephropathy (2026 edition)". This guideline adopts the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) framework to evaluate the quality of evidence and strength of recommendations, with the final recommendations presented as formal "Recommendations" and "Practice Suggestions". The guideline focuses specifically on the diagnosis, risk stratification, treatment strategies, and comprehensive management of MN, with the aim of providing clinicians with a practical reference tosupport scientific, well-standardized therapeutic decision-making and disease management.
