Abstract
There is currently a trend toward treating many practitioners as specialists and experts who claim a monopoly on managing individuals' well-being and providing them with reassurance. The need for child and adolescent psychiatric care arises from the expression of complaints and distress. Care must go beyond the mere diagnosis to focus on addressing the needs of the individual as a whole. An integrative approach to care must not exclude any clinical approach.
