Abstract

The renewed interest in psychedelics in psychiatry calls for a reexamination of the concept of the unconscious. By profoundly altering states of consciousness, these substances appear to facilitate access to psychological content that is usually difficult to access. Their therapeutic value depends heavily on the therapeutic setting and the process of integration.
