Abstract

Periprosthetic fractures are a central topic in orthopedic and trauma surgery. With increasing numbers of joint replacements and an aging, active population, a continuous rise in these injuries is expected. A key factor is the assessment of implant stability, which determines whether conservative treatment, osteosynthesis, or complex revision arthroplasty is indicated. The article addresses total knee and total hip arthroplasties.
